Pilar Tarnera

Pilar Tarnera is the daughter of a family which was set their journey with José Arcadio Buendía, because her parents want her to separate from a man who raped her at the age of fourteen. He continued loving her, he never publicly acknowledged his relation with Pilar Tarnera. He promised to follow her "to the ends of the earth". But he never did and Pilar Tarnera lost her youth waiting for this man.

Aureliano José dies in war and, Arcadio continues the Buendia dynasty further.
